If you know us, you know we're not one for the spotlight.

To be honest, posting on social media doesn’t come naturally to us, and we had to get used to the idea that "sharing" isn’t the same as "showing off".

But as KurotoPartner enters our 2nd year, we realized that staying quiet would do a disservice to the people who helped us get here.

Looking back at 2025, we're incredibly proud of what we’ve built from the ground up:

• We started with no loans, no debt, and no outside funding. Through lean, intentional growth, we reached profitability within just 6 months.

• We successfully filled 100% of our exclusive/ retained searches.

• We signed 3 exclusive clients who chose KurotoPartner as their sole recruitment partner in Japan.

• 27 of you took the time to leave us 5-star reviews on Google, which means more to me than any revenue figure.

To every person, who trusted us with their career, and every client who trusted us with their growth: Thank you.

You are the reason KurotoPartner exists, and we're deeply grateful for the support you've shown us during our first year.

I can't believe it's already nearly been one year since we started our firm.

Recently I met with an long time candidate-turned-friend, Shin-san. We’ve stayed in touch for 10+ years, and he surprised me with a big sake bottle (益々繁盛) to celebrate KurotoPartner’s start.

Last week I also met Alan, a client I’ve supported for years but only met in person recently. Within minutes, I was reminded how rare true authenticity is in our professional lives.

This reminded me:

1) Authenticity compounds. The people who show up the same way -- on both good days and hard days -- are the ones you can build with for a decade.

2) Relationships > Transactions. Great recruiting isn’t just matching skills; it’s investing in long-term trust.

3) Celebrate the Real people. They’re uncommon, and worth holding onto.

I'm grateful for people like Shin-san and Alan. If you’ve got someone in your network who consistently shows up as their true self, tag them and tell them so.
