Japan, wala pang planong mag-hire ng mga foreigner resident to join their military service

What is your Point of View regarding this?

Japan's banks won't let some legal foreign residents touch their own money.
Not because their right to live in Japan ran out.
Because the plastic card in their wallet did.
When the expiry date on a registered residence card passes, banks can freeze the account — ATM withdrawals, transfers, automatic bill payments, all of it.
That can happen to someone who filed months early and is legally in the country under the two-month grace period written into the Immigration Control Act.
The National Police Agency asked banks to verify the status of foreign account holders after fraud rings started buying up accounts left behind by people who had gone home.
The Financial Services Agency confirmed the freezes in 2025.
Some banks accept the "application pending" stamp on the back of the residence card and leave the account alone.
Others refuse it.
One resident described being locked out over a weekend with 2,000 yen in his pocket.
Another said his renewal ran from March to July while his card expired in May.
One student wrote that classmates whose cards expired in June are losing their jobs while they wait.

Human rights advocacy groups, including the non-profit organization Solidary with Migrants Japan (Migiren), held a press conference inside the National Diet building on August 28 to call for the immediate withdrawal of a draft proposal that tightens permanent residency requirements. Proposed by the Immigration Services Agency, the new draft guidelines introduce stricter income criteria—requiring applicants' household earnings to exceed the national average for Japanese households—alongside mandatory Japanese language proficiency standards and updated pension projection benchmarks.
Long-term foreign residents gathered at a concurrent parliamentary rally to express deep anxieties over their futures, warning that elevated barriers strip foreign nationals of stability and safety. Human rights advocates argued that the policies undermine multicultural living and threaten societal vitality, while supporters of the reform argue it ensures financial self-sufficiency among long-term immigrants. Following a public comment period, the revised guidelines are scheduled to take effect in April 2027.

Japan tripled departure tax to fund tourism but is using money on Cherry blossoms and Bears

On 1 July, Japan increased its departure tax for everyone flying out of the country, raising it from 1,000 yen to 3,000 yen per departure, with the cost included in the price of the airfare. While the threefold increase applies to both foreign tourists and Japanese citizens, the government acknowled...
