The Immigration Bureau under the Ministry of Public Security has announced that it will automatically extend the stay period until August 31 for foreigners who are unable to leave Vietnam due to the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

Applicable to foreigners who entered Vietnam on after March 1, ◇ No visa (Visa exemption), ◇ Electronic visa, ◇ Tourist visa.

For foreigners who have entered Vietnam before that time, please prove that they cannot leave Vietnam because of the new Corona, and submit the documents (with Vietnamese translation) certified by the relevant diplomatic organization or isolate by the new Corona.
You can also extend the stay until August 31st by submitting documents issued by the Vietnamese authorities proving that you have been treated or that you have been treated or other reasons for force majeure.

Foreigners who are subject to this measure must report about own staying report and own health to the local authorities during the period of automatic extension during own stay period in accordance with regulations.

However, as March 3 of this month, there were only 625 trainees who re-employed companies in the agriculture and food manufacturing industries using this system, and the Immigration Bureau wants to publicize the system and encourage its use.
