【Important Notice】 Strict New Bicycle Rules & Fines! 🚲⚠️
To everyone working in Japan:
Do you use a bicycle to commute to work or go shopping?
Starting April 1, 2026, bicycle traffic rules in Japan have become much stricter.
If you break the rules, the police will give you a ticket, and you must pay a fine.
This applies to everyone aged 16 and older.
Please be careful! Here are some common violations and their fines: 👇
📱 Using a smartphone while riding: ¥12,000
➡️ Riding on the right side of the road: ¥6,000
🚶 Riding on the sidewalk (pedestrian path): ¥6,000
☂️ Riding while holding an umbrella: ¥5,000
🎧 Riding while using earphones: ¥5,000
💡 Riding without a light at night: ¥5,000
If you receive a ticket from the police, you must pay the fine at a bank or post office by the deadline. If you do not pay, you may be taken to court.
"I didn't know" is not an excuse😢
