🔥 2年に一度の世界最大級のロボット専門展『iREX2025』 (English follows.)
12/3(水)〜12/6(土)まで東京ビッグサイトで開催中の2025国際ロボット展へ訪問してきました。
より国際色が豊かになり、展示もいっそう多彩に。初日から会場全体が熱気に包まれる中、やはり目を引いたのはヒューマノイド関連の展示の多さです。
その背景には、ハードウェアの成熟に加え、VLA（Vision-Language-Action）モデルと呼ばれる視覚情報・言語情報・行動を統合し、リアルタイムで意思決定と動作を行うAIモデルの登場があると考えられます。
すでに大手メーカーでは、これらを製造・物流現場へどう適用するかの検証と開発がはじまっているとのこと。ChatGPTをはじめとする生成AI技術が広まったように、フィジカル領域でもAI活用が本格化するか今後が楽しみです。
一方で、ヒューマノイドだけではなく、現場に確実な価値を生み出すロボットソリューションが着実に進化している点も見逃せません。
多くの出展社が「どんな課題にどう効くのか」を具体的な実装例とともに提示しており、展示会といえども単なるショーケースではなく、実際の運用実績を背景にロボット活用の裾野がさらに広がっていることが伝わってきました。
ユーザー側からすると、選択肢が増え活用のイメージが難しく感じられる場面もあるかもしれません。
それでも、ヒューマノイドの未来を描きつつ、人のあり方や現場のリアルを踏まえて“価値を生むロボット活用”を模索していくことが、これからいっそう重要になっていくのだと思います。

🔥 iREX2025 — One of the world’s largest robot exhibitions, held every two years
We visited the International Robot Exhibition 2025 (iREX2025), held at Tokyo Big Sight from December 3rd to 6th.
The exhibition felt more international and diverse than ever, and the venue was filled with excitement from the very first day. Among the many highlights, what stood out most was the significant increase in humanoid-related displays.
Behind this trend is not only the maturation of hardware, but also the emergence of VLA (Vision-Language-Action) models that integrate visual input, language understanding, and actions to make decisions and operate in real time. Major manufacturers have already begun testing and developing how these models can be applied in manufacturing and logistics settings. Just as generative AI technologies such as ChatGPT have rapidly spread, we are eager to see how AI adoption accelerates in the physical world as well.
At the same time, it wasn’t only humanoids making an impression. Robotic solutions that deliver tangible value in real environments are steadily evolving, and this should not be overlooked.
Many exhibitors presented concrete implementation examples that clearly showed which challenges their solutions address and how. These demonstrations went beyond simple showcases and indicated that the practical use of robots is steadily expanding across the industry.
From the user’s perspective, the growing number of options may make it challenging to envision how best to utilize these technologies. Even so, while we look forward to the future of humanoids, we believe it is increasingly important to understand how people actually work and what the field truly needs, and to explore robot applications that genuinely create value.
