La nostra Angelica De Vito è stata ospite a FORMA, lo straordinario evento che ha animato la Nuvola di Fuksas a Roma, riunendo le eccellenze delle scuole di moda del Lazio tra conferenze, dibattiti e le visioni di giovani designer rivoluzionari.

We just stepped out of the MoMu – Fashion Museum Antwerp, and we’re still buzzing from ‘The Antwerp Six’ exhibition. Walking through the archives of Van Beirendonck, Demeulemeester, Van Saene, Bikkembergs, Yee, and Van Noten feels less like a history lesson and more like a radical wake-up call.

In 1986, these six piled into a rented camper van, fueled by punk-inflected rebellion and a government grant, to take on London. They didn’t just show clothes; they exported an artistic autonomy that changed the industry forever.

The Contrast: 1986 vs. 2026

The exhibition poses a haunting question: In a world where revenue is king and shareholders often have the final word over the soul of a collection, could this kind of raw, uncompromising individualism survive?

Then: Walter Van Beirendonck taking orders while dressed as a gnome on a red plastic toadstool.

Now: A landscape where “originality is flattened into trend” and sincerity is often just a marketing gimmick.

Why It Matters for Recruitment

At Between Research, we’re constantly looking for the next wave of talent. Seeing Marina Yee’s “process over product” philosophy or Dries Van Noten’s legendary refusal to use advertising reminds us that integrity is the ultimate luxury.
