In the remote rural setting of Laii Village under Paomata Block, Senapati, the need for self-reliance in animal feed production is more critical than ever. JSSLOF is committed to promoting sustainable agriculture by encouraging farmers to cultivate their own fodder and make efficient use of locally available resources.

Reducing dependence on external feed sources not only lowers costs but also strengthens livestock productivity and resilience in these hard-to-reach areas. Strengthening sustainable agriculture in the Himalayan region must go hand in hand with achieving self-reliance in animal feed production. JSSLOF continues to promote cultivation of fodder crops and efficient use of local resources to reduce dependence on external feed inputs.

By encouraging farmers to grow their own feed, we not only lower production costs but also ensure better livestock health and long-term sustainability. Building self-reliant farming systems is key to securing livelihoods and preserving the fragile hill ecosystem.
