🚨 BIG RELIEF FOR EMPLOYERS! EPFO EXTENDS ECR FILING & CONTRIBUTION PAYMENT DEADLINE! 🚨

📢 September 2026 EPF Compliance Deadline Extended to 31st October 2026!

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has announced a significant relief for employers and industrial establishments by extending the due date for filing the Electronic Challan-cum-Return (ECR) and remittance of statutory EPF contributions for the wage month of September 2026.

📅 Earlier Deadline: 15th October 2026
✅ Revised Deadline: 31st October 2026
📄 EPFO Circular Date: 13th October 2026

🔹 Key Reasons Behind the Extension:

✅ Revision of the EPF wage ceiling effective from 17th September 2026.

✅ Necessary modifications in payroll systems and employee-wise PF contribution calculations.

✅ Technical, operational and administrative challenges faced by establishments.

✅ Representations submitted by employers and industry stakeholders seeking additional time for statutory compliance.

📌 IMPORTANT: This extension applies exclusively to the wage month of September 2026 and does not extend compliance deadlines for any other wage month.

🏭 A welcome relief for industries, employers, HR professionals and payroll compliance teams!

Employers are advised to utilise the extended period to ensure accurate payroll calculations, proper ECR filing and timely remittance of statutory contributions.
