This month, our Learning & Development (L&D) team organised a two-day 'First-Time Manager' workshop, facilitated by Ashwini Dasgupta, Personal Development Trainer & Transformational Coach.

It was aimed at empowering 18 first-time managers to lead with confidence by equipping them with essential leadership skills: effective communication, trust-building, delegation, performance management and handling difficult conversations.

As we mark our 80th year, we're revisiting some of the advertisements in our corporate archives from the early decades.

This ad highlighted not just our products but aspirations for a rapidly developing nation: it envisioned a future where access to electricity and mechanisation would free people from manual labour, creating opportunities to learn new skills.

For us, progress has always been about empowering people, improving lives and enabling growth. Eight decades later, this vision continues to guide us.

On 30th August, we hosted our annual Merit Award Function, celebrating the academic achievements of our employees’ children. 91 bright students from Class 7 through graduation, were felicitated for their performance. Special cash prizes were also awarded to the top performers in the Class 10th and 12th board examinations.

The celebrations went beyond academics, with insightful sessions for students on time management, resilience, patience, and balancing mobile use with reading. Parents participated in an engaging session on family values, bonding and communication.

It was a wonderful afternoon of pride, encouragement and togetherness, culminating in lunch with students and their proud parents.

As we celebrate 80 years of Bharat Bijlee, we're looking back at some of our iconic advertisements from our archives.

This ad from 1971, featuring stylised illustrations of our motors, pump-sets and transformers, highlights the 25 years of experience that had already defined us then. More than five decades later, the promise remains the same: high quality and advanced engineering technology that meet, and exceed the standards our customers expect.

Our 80th Independence Day celebration brought together BB-ites and their families for a morning of flag-hoisting, fun and creativity.
While 77 children of employees showcased their talent in a drawing competition 'Colours of Freedom', parents enjoyed games of their own. Here are some memorable moments.

As part of our CSR programme for FY 2026–27, we donated a GE ultra-portable, AI-enabled ultrasound machine to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj (CSM) Hospital, Kalwa. The machine, designed for regional anaesthesia and vascular access, was inaugurated by our Subramanian P (centre left) in the presence of the hospital leadership team and BB representatives.

The anaesthesia machine we donated to the hospital last year, has already been used for over a 1000 surgeries! We are confident that this latest contribution will further strengthen surgical services at the hospital and improve healthcare access for communities in and around Airoli.

This week, we proudly commemorated 20 years of being listed on the National Stock Exchange NSE India — a milestone made even more meaningful as we celebrate our 80th year.

Hosted at the NSE headquarters in Mumbai, the ceremony brought together our leadership team, valued partners and distinguished guests. In his keynote address, our Executive Director, Shome Danani, reflected on our journey and the significance of completing two decades as a listed company, highlighting the resilience, prudent risk management and strong governance that have shaped our enduring legacy.

The ceremonial bell was rung by Shome Danani, and our Chief Financial Officer, Yogendra Agarwal, alongside the NSE team.

The occasion was a celebration of the people, values and purpose that have defined Bharat Bijlee since 1946. As we mark this milestone, we remain focused on shaping the future and creating long-term value for all our stakeholders.
