दैठणा Daithana is a major village in Shirur Anantpal Taluka of Latur district in Indian state of Maharashtr

Daithana is a large village located in Shirur-Anantpal of Latur district, Maharashtra with total 380 families residing. The Daithana village has population of 2030 of which 1041 are males while 989 are females as per Population Census 2011. In Daithana village population of children with age 0-6 is 246 which makes up 12.12 % of total population of village. Average S*x Ratio of Daithana village is

950 which is higher than Maharashtra state average of 929. Child S*x Ratio for the Daithana as per census is 878, lower than Maharashtra average of 894. Daithana village has lower literacy rate compared to Maharashtra. In 2011, literacy rate of Daithana village was 79.15 % compared to 82.34 % of Maharashtra. In Daithana Male literacy stands at 85.60 % while female literacy rate was 72.43 %. As per constitution of India and Panchyati Raaj Act, Daithana village is administrated by Sarpanch (Head of Village) who is elected representative of village. Daithana village of Latur has substantial population of Schedule Caste. Schedule Caste (SC) constitutes 25.17 % while Schedule Tribe (ST) were 9.46 % of total population in Daithana village. In Daithana village out of total population, 927 were engaged in work activities. 89.10 % of workers describe their work as Main Work (Employment or Earning more than 6 Months) while 10.90 % were involved in Marginal activity providing livelihood for less than 6 months. Of 927 workers engaged in Main Work, 433 were cultivators (owner or co-owner) while 298 were Agricultural labourer.
