The One-Way Mirror of Tax Compliance 📉
In our digital era, tax compliance is heavily automated. If a citizen misses a deadline, the system immediately generates a penalty.
Accountability must flow both ways.

But what happens when the state’s own administrative machinery fails? When files are delayed, databases are fragmented, or basic infrastructure breaks down, where is the penalty for the state?
In my latest VGC Systems Audit, I explore the "KSEB Model of Taxation." The issue isn't that taxation exists—modern states require revenue. The issue is that the accountability mechanism currently operates in only one direction.
Collecting money efficiently is not the same thing as governing efficiently. If citizens are measured against strict compliance deadlines, public administration must be measured against strict service standards.
Accountability must flow both ways.
