Responsibilities:
Inspect railway tracks and identify areas that require maintenance or repair
Carry out repairs to railway tracks, including replacing sleepers and rails, and repairing ballast
Use specialized equipment to maintain and repair railway tracks, including tamping machines and rail saws
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning tracks and removing debris
Work collaboratively with other railway staff to ensure the safe and efficient operation of trains
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance and repair work
Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
Requirements:
High school
Previous experience in railway track maintenance preferred
Knowledge of railway track maintenance practices and equipment
Ability to operate specialized equipment, including tamping machines and rail saws
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and address potential maintenance issues
Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and perform manual labor
Ability to work in all weather conditions
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required
