All martyrs were dreamers. They visualized a nation that was strong, prosperous, free from hunger and exploitation, world leader in knowledge and bacon for the entire mankind. The
MMRI feels that the best way of preserving the memory of these martyrs would be by way of striving for these objectives. It aims at policy research and policy formulation in this direction based on the ideas of Mahatma Gandhi, Deendayal Upadhyaya and Jayaprakash Narain. Since Independence thousands of persons, security personnel and civilians became victims of murderous attacks by insurgency and extremist outfits not only in the North East, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir but also in several other parts such as Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Bengal. Dr Shyama Prasad Mookherji and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, who gave a positive and intellectual leadership to the country, kept the tradition of supreme sacrifices alive through their own martyrdom. They did not allow the torch of martyrdom to become dim, but dazzle all along.
