A weaver. A question. A discovery that became a lifelong passion.
Years ago, during his early days as a designer, Gaurang Shah encountered a weaving tradition that caught his attention. What began as curiosity about a design concept eventually led him to Jamdani — a remarkable Indian handloom tradition that would inspire him to explore its possibilities across more than a hundred creations.
At DESIGN: UNFILTERED, he shares a story that reminds us that great design often begins with curiosity, grows through craftsmanship, and finds its soul in the people who preserve it.
A tribute to India’s handloom heritage, the artistry of its weavers, and the timeless beauty of traditional Indian textiles.
