The event brought together academic leadership, industry representatives and clean energy professionals to discuss the evolving energy landscape and the importance of innovation, technology integration and industry collaboration in accelerating Indiaโ€™s clean energy transition.

With the growing adoption of renewable energy, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are playing an increasingly important role in ensuring grid stability, flexibility and reliable power supply. Addressing the associated skill requirements and preparing a future-ready workforce will be critical to supporting this growth.

The launch of the SEPA Student Council in Pune was another significant initiative, encouraging student engagement with emerging clean energy technologies and future career opportunities in the sustainability sector.

SCGJ remains committed to strengthening the green skills ecosystem by aligning skill development with industry needs, supporting emerging clean energy technologies and enabling employment opportunities across India's growing green economy.

SCGJ had a productive meeting with the World Biogas Association (WBA) on 6th October 2026, to explore collaboration for skilling in Anaerobic Digestion Certification, standards, plant modernisation, O&M, automation and adoption of global best practices. Discussions also focused on jointly developing industry-relevant skilling and certification programmes to build a skilled, certified and future-ready workforce for Indiaโ€™s growing biogas and circular bioeconomy sector. We look forward to taking this collaboration forward and bringing global expertise together with Indiaโ€™s green-skilling ecosystem.
