ICF UWU CITU ICF UNITED WORKERS UNION (CITU) REGD.(1723/MDS)


United Workers Union was inaugurated in the year 1971 on the date of 27/01/1971 under the leadership of Com.

V.K.KUMARAN (founder President) and Com. S.KRISHNAN (founder General Secretary). The union in its long history of 45 years was instrumental in achieving various demands of the RAILWAY working class in general and employees in INTEGRAL COACH FACTORY in particular through its valiant struggles. Following are the sum of the important milestones in its history.

1. Filling up of Group D posts , which

was lying vacant for very long time through absorption of course completed ICF Act Apprentices according to the seniority.

2. Fighting against the retrograde policies to surrender, surplus manpower arised out of outsourcing the jobs, which was done by ICF employees.

3. Fighting against the implementation of NEW PENSION SYSTEM applicable to the employees recruited on or after 01.01.2004.

4. Fighting against the anomalies in the pay structures of all the Central Pay Commissions.

5. Ensuring safety working atmosphere in ICF. It was affiliated to CITU (Centre for Indian Trade Unions) during the year 2003 on 33rd General Body held on 25.05.2003.
