ஆனால், அது தான் அவனுக்கு இப்போது வினையாகியுள்ளது. ஆமாம், தனது உற்றவர்கள் என்ன சொன்னாலும் முடியாது என்று சொல்ல மாட்டான். இப்படித்தான் இன்ஸ்பெக்டர் ஶ்ரீதர் அவர்களும் சக SI அதிகாரிகளும் கட்டளையிட்டவுடன் மற்ற காவலர்களுடன் இணைந்து இந்த மகா பாவ செயலை செய்துவிட்டான். அதற்கு தண்டனையாக ஒரு பெரும் அபராத தொகையுடன் மரண தண்டனையும் பெற்றுள்ளான்.

India is facing a serious and ongoing public health challenge due to stray dog attacks and rabies.

🚨 The Numbers (Verified Data)

In 2024, India reported approximately 37 lakh (3.7 million) dog/animal bite cases — that is more than 10,000 bites per day.

In earlier years, reported cases have ranged much higher — for example, around 72 lakh cases in 2019 (pre-pandemic reporting levels).

India records an estimated 18,000–20,000 rabies deaths per year — among the highest in the world.

Rabies is almost 100% fatal once symptoms begin — but fully preventable with timely treatment.

These are not small numbers. They represent lakhs of families suffering trauma, medical expenses, and in thousands of cases, permanent loss.

Repeated dog-bite incidents in major cities, near colleges, residential areas, parks, and even international sports venues raise serious concerns.

There have been reported instances of:
