Position - QA Manager !

Main Functions of the role:
Primary functional Tasks:
• Leads, manages and develops the site technical team in compliance with agreed generic company structures and roles
• Guardian of product standards including compliance to all product specifications, central policies and procedures relating to process consistency, quality systems, food safety, hygiene and legal standards
• To support the National Technical Manager in handling the total functional operations pertaining to QA department.
• Support to maintain product standards including compliance to all product specifications, central policies and procedures relating to process consistency, quality systems, food safety(FSSC 22000, HACCP), hygiene, OHSAS 18001 and legal(FSSAI) standards.
• To drive the factory laboratory operations independently.
• To ensure the Analytical Testing’s for Raw Materials, Packaging Materials, In-process Materials etc.
• To carry out the testing’s as per the approved methods by thoroughly understanding the same.
• Calibrations, standardizations, documentation of lab records, investigations in case of out of specification results, deviations, customer complaints etc as per the requirement of good laboratory practices as well good documentation practices.
• Handling of shop floor- Quality assurance activities.

Secondary functional Tasks:
• Handling Customer complaints.
• Support to carry out the activities as per the requirement of QMS/HACCP / ISO 22000.
• To support in developing the standard procedures (SOP’s, STP’s etc.), process sheets, work instructions etc.
• To support in development/modifications of packaging materials.
• Supportive in HACCP implementation for the entire factory: preparation, HACCP study, managing HACCP team, implementation and maintenance
• Support to train the departmental staff/ shop floor work force.
• Interaction with factory cross functional teams and on need basis interaction with corporate relevant team members.
• Support to management in handling of FSSAI requirements.
• Support to manage ERP- Master data- QM and Bill of Materials management.
• Supporting a site-specific programme of NPD, implementation and continuous improvement, both product and process.

People management
• ensure that all quality personnel is fully trained in all tasks to be undertaken
• prioritizes resource allocation within the team to ensure that all agreed objectives are met
• accountable for the Health & Safety of the site Technical team
• Responsible for developmental responsibility for Process and Packaging teams.
• Handling of shop floor QA team as well as Laboratory analytical teams.

Product quality
• leads the shop floor product quality review process for the site
• own the technical change process for the site, including temporary spec changes
• ensures compliance to all product specifications and customer requirements
• manages consumer and customer complaints + reporting
• manages monitoring of suppliers performance at factory.

Food safety and Certification standards
• owns the HACCP system and ensures it remains robust
• Support management in coordinate for all activities linked to incident and / or product recall/ withdrawal, including briefing of the site’s senior team.
• ensures compliance to all customer and legislative requirements
• Working knowledge of FSMS systems (FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, HACCP), QMS, OHSAS, EMS.

Process and Product development
• manages a proactive Technical programme for process improvement and cost reduction
• captures and communicate all critical process and material knowledge applicable to the site and its product range
• co-ordinates all site NPD implementation and all site process improvement activities
Qualifications:
Post-Graduation; M.Sc( Chemistry/Food Technology/Food Chemistry)/ B.Tech- Food Technology.
Additional Qualifications (Optional) : Food Technology course, Lead Auditor Certifications.
Computer Proficiency: ERP (SAP- QM), working knowledge of computer, MS Office.

Experience: 8 to 10 years of experience in Food & Beverage industries in Quality function.
