š¬ Spaceballs: The New One (2027)
š Stars: Josh Gad, Lewis Pullman, Rick Moranis, Mel Brooks
The Schwartz is back! After decades of merchandising, Spaceballs: The New One finally hyperspaces into theaters, proving that in space, no one can hear you scheme for a bigger box office. Mel Brooks returns to unleash the madness, bringing back the hilariously evil Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis) and the corrupt President Skroob (Mel Brooks) for another absurdly hilarious galactic cash grab.
Lewis Pullman takes the helm as the new rogue hero, Lone Starr Jr., inheriting his father's flying Winnebago but absolutely none of his piloting skills. He is joined by his trusty, completely "original" sidekick (played by Josh Gad), who is definitely not a blatant ripoff of any modern sci-fi droid or fluffy alien. Meanwhile, Rick Moranis triumphantly returns as Dark Helmet, proving that evil never ages ā it just gets a slightly bigger helmet and needs reading glasses.
When the newly rebranded mega-corporation "Spaceballs Prime" threatens to steal the atmosphere of yet another peaceful planet using an oversized vacuum cleaner disguised as a streaming service satellite, Lone Starr Jr. must master the Schwartz. Guided by the wise and extremely marketable Yogurt (Mel Brooks), the crew embarks on a ridiculously meta journey across the galaxy, dodging copyright infringement lawsuits at every turn.
Packed with relentless fourth-wall breaks, ludicrous visual gags, and sharp parodies of every major sci-fi franchise from the last forty years, Spaceballs: The New One is the sequel nobody asked for but everybody desperately needs. May the Schwartz be with you, because the official movie merchandising is going to be incredibly expensive.
