Int Bhatta Majur Union- IBMU Our main fight is against the bonded labors in Brick Kilns. Wage labor is the chief mode of sustenance for the poor of the country.

It is widely accepted that a majority of the workforce in the unorganized sector has no access to social security of any kind. The increasingly uneven spread of economic growth and lax implementation of labor laws has led to a tremendous increase in wage labour migration. Workers are mostly recruited through a huge network of intermediaries including labour contractors against case advances that b

ond the workers for a definite tenure. Their wages are settled at the end of the work period for the duration of which they stay bonded to work site, receiving living expenses only. Wage are low, work-hours long and living condition pathetic. Their work hours are inhumanly long - up to 16 hours a day and they work for nominal wages under very difficult working and living conditions. Most Workers have accumulated debts that they are unlikely to ever pay up fully. As a result they can be classified as a bonded labor. The interesting aspect which needs to be observed here is that the workers are not only bonded to the owners where they works, but also to the contractors who provide them an advance payment with the promise of providing them requisite amount of labor. We work for these kind of unorganized workers who are mostly victims of human trafficking and migrated with family.
