Happy Seafarer Day . Peringatan ini sebagai bentuk apresiasi terhadap para pelaut yang telah berperan untuk perpindahan orang, pengiriman barang dan komoditas di dunia berjalan dengan lancar, aman dan selamat sampai tujuan.
The crew of a seagoing ship is a small community coming from many nations, believes, cultural backgrounds, different levels of education and speaking many languages. Still, out at sea they are one crew. They need to be. Out there on the wide open ocean it's just them and their ship with no help from the outside world.
There's many issues to deal with: commercial demands, technical problems, the weather, navigation, compliance with all regulations and so on. When a fire breaks out or a someone gets seriously ill, it's up to the crew to help themselves. Think about that.
They leave their families and are separated from their loved ones for many months. All this means a lot of stress, physically and emotionally and all the problems that come with it. Being a seafarer is still a relatively dangerous job. This year the focus of the day of the seafarer is on their wellbeing.
Luckily a day out at sea can also be stunningly beautiful. The sea is also a great place to work and meet new horizons, countries and people. Our seafarers deserve the best support possible and a safe return home to their families. And a big thank you from all of us!
