Stronger health systems begin with prevention, effective implementation, and international cooperation.

SwissCham Indonesia was pleased to participate in the Kadin Monthly Diplomatic Economic Breakfast today, 9 October 2026, at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. SwissCham was represented by our Executive Director, Ms. Olivia Nathalie Noor.

Under the theme “Building National Health Systems, Growing Regional Resilience to Scale Global Impact,” the gathering brought together the diplomatic and business communities for a discussion with H.E. Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Kementerian Kesehatan RI.

The Minister highlighted the importance of keeping people healthy through prevention, healthier lifestyles, and early detection, including Indonesia’s free health check-up programme. Reflecting on Indonesia’s COVID-19 response, he also emphasised that effective leadership requires the ability to translate ambitious plans into results at scale.

The discussion extended to global health governance and the challenges facing the World Health Organization. International cooperation and leadership that delivers measurable improvements in people’s lives were central themes throughout the exchange.

For SwissCham, these conversations are relevant to our healthcare and life sciences members and to the wider business community. Stronger health systems support a healthier workforce, economic resilience, and opportunities for cooperation between Switzerland and Indonesia in healthcare innovation and expertise.

We extend our sincere appreciation to H.E. Budi Gunadi Sadikin and the Ministry of Health, as well as Kadin Indonesia, Mr. Anindya N. Bakrie, Chairman, and Dr. James Riady, Coordinating Vice Chairman for International Affairs, for convening this valuable dialogue.

When SwissCham members connect, new stories take shape✨

We are pleased to highlight a recent collaboration we between our members, Syngenta Indonesia and CNN Indonesia, around Syngenta’s Rice Festival 2026.

Through CNN Indonesia’s coverage, the festival reached a wider audience and brought greater visibility to conversations about Indonesia’s rice sector, agricultural innovation, and people shaping its future.

A great example of how collaboration between our members from different industries can create meaningful partnerships to amplify important stories. We look forward to seeing more of our members connect beyond their own sectors and find opportunities to collaborate.

Our member, and its partners are expanding “Recycle for Good” in Indonesia under the regional “Recycle for Good – Prevent Marine Litter” initiative.

Building on activities in Greater Jakarta, the program is expanding to Surabaya, Malang, West Nusa Tenggara, and Bali, engaging schools, communities, businesses, waste collectors, and other stakeholders to strengthen waste segregation, collection, and recycling.

Through collaboration, community engagement, digital tools, and improved recycling infrastructure, the initiative aims to make recycling more accessible and help keep packaging waste out of our oceans 🌊

Led by Mr. Edouard Helfand, our Ease of Doing Business sectoral group is honored to meet with Dr. Ir. Irawati Tjipto Priyanti, M.T., Director of Digital Investigation at the Ministry of Communication and Digital (DITJEN PENGAWASAN RUANG DIGITAL KOMDIGI), and the team to discuss potential areas of collaboration in addressing counterfeit products on digital platforms📱🛒

The discussion provided a valuable opportunity to exchange perspectives on the challenges posed by counterfeit goods in the rapidly evolving digital ecosystem, including the role of digital platforms, monitoring, investigation, and potential cooperation between the government and the business community.

We were pleased to join the Embassy of Switzerland in Indonesia Swiss Embassy in Indonesia, Mathias Domenig, Deputy Head of Mission, and talithapalupi, Economic and Political Officer, for a meeting with Dr. Maulani Mega Hapsari, S.IP., M.A., Director of Junior High School, at the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Kementerian Pendidikan Dasar dan Menengah, and her team.

Together with Ferry Dzulkifli Latief Swisscontact Manager of Public Sector Engagement and Fitri Widya Utami, Junior Program Office of Swisscontact as well, we had the opportunity to introduce ’s Swiss Future Week initiative, taking place on 9–13 November 2026. Inspired by the Zukunftstag / Swiss Future Day in Switzerland, the initiative is being introduced in Indonesia for the first time. The initiative comes at a particularly meaningful moment as Switzerland and Indonesia celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations🇨🇭🇮🇩

Swiss Future Week aims to inspire young Indonesians to gain first-hand insights into the future of work, explore diverse careers and industries, and develop the perspectives needed to navigate a rapidly changing world through visits to Swiss companies — while strengthening connections between Switzerland and Indonesia in education, innovation, and youth development.
