🎙️After two seasons of recording 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁 remotely, I finally had the courage to do my first in-person podcast recording.

There’s something about sitting across from someone, reading the pauses, the energy, the expressions in between stories that makes the conversation feel more human, more layered, more alive.

My guest for this episode is Fuji Sartono who grew up as a diplomat’s son and spent much of his life moving across countries, cultures, and identities.

In this episode, we explore how that upbringing shaped the way he leads today inside a multinational corporation and navigating different perspectives, building trust across cultures, and understanding what it means to belong in global spaces while still being “seen as Asian.”

I did a reading of my new story at the Georgetown Literary Festival… and honestly, I never thought I’d be doing this again.

After publishing “How to Thrive as a Misfit”, I really thought that was my one and done.

This story is a deeply personal one about my mom, her childhood in Penang, and how her quiet strength shaped the woman (and mother) I am today.

What made the moment even more special?

Having my mom and my son there with me.

How many of us have considered interviewing our parents or elders to capture their stories before they’re lost?
