I believe young people are not merely beneficiaries of development. They are drivers of it.

Today, as we celebrate International Youth Day, we recognize the creativity, resilience, leadership, and potential of young people across Africa and around the world.

From entrepreneurship and innovation to community development, technology, advocacy, and social impact, young people continue to demonstrate that when given the right opportunities, they can transform challenges into solutions.

But celebrating young people should go beyond recognition.

It requires investing in their skills, creating pathways to meaningful opportunities, providing mentorship and support, and building environments where young people can turn their ideas into sustainable impact.

At Sahel Global Network, our commitment remains to empower young people and women with the knowledge, skills, opportunities, and support they need to unlock their potential and contribute meaningfully to society.

Today, we celebrate young people.

The recent floods have had a significant impact on many individuals, families, and communities across Ghana. The extent of the damage serves as a reminder of the importance of preparedness, resilience, and collective support during times of crisis.

My thoughts are with everyone affected, especially those working to recover from the loss of homes, businesses, and livelihoods. I also commend the efforts of emergency responders, volunteers, and organizations providing assistance to those in need.

As communities begin the recovery process, each of us can contribute in meaningful ways—whether by supporting relief efforts, checking in on those affected, or sharing accurate information that promotes safety.

Wishing everyone impacted strength in the days ahead and hoping for a safe and steady recovery for all.
