Are you an experienced Engineering Team Leader, Engineering Supervisor or Engineering Shift Manager looking to join a successful and growing food manufacturing business?

Our client is a well-established FMCG manufacturer with significant investment in its people, engineering function and production facilities. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Engineering Shift Manager to lead a team of engineers on a busy night shift, ensuring maximum equipment reliability, high engineering standards and continuous improvement across the site.

The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will lead the day shift engineering team, ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently whilst driving reliability, continuous improvement and engineering performance across the site.

Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will take a hands-on approach to supporting both planned and reactive maintenance, developing your team and ensuring engineering activities support the delivery of operational targets.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the engineering team on shift.
Minimise downtime through planned and reactive maintenance.
Drive equipment reliability and continuous improvement.
Coordinate engineering priorities with production.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and food safety standards.
Support preventative maintenance and asset care activities.

The Person
You will ideally have:
An engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
Engineering experience within an FMCG manufacturing environment, ideally food.
Previous experience leading an engineering team.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A proactive, hands-on approach.

The Role
As HR Advisor, you will provide day-to-day support and guidance to managers across a wide range of employee relations matters, while helping to drive engagement, wellbeing and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Key responsibilities will include:
Advising managers on disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance matters Supporting investigations and employee relations casework Coaching managers on HR policies and procedures Supporting engagement and wellbeing initiatives Assisting with HR reporting, KPIs and people data Supporting ethical audits and compliance activity Contributing to continuous improvement projects across the HR function.

About You
We are looking for a resilient and people-focused HR professional who thrives in a fast-moving environment.

You will ideally have:
·CIPD Level 5 qualification, or CIPD Level 3 with a desire to work towards Level 5
·Previous experience within a busy HR environment
·Strong communication and organisational skills
·Confidence dealing with challenging situations and stakeholders
·A proactive and adaptable approach FMCG or manufacturing experience would be advantageous

Key Responsibilities:
Engage with potential customers in residential areas to promote products and services.

The Opportunity

This is a senior leadership role, responsible for driving operational performance, leading large teams, and delivering continuous improvement across a fast-paced FMCG environment.

You will play a key role in shaping departmental strategy, leading change initiatives, and delivering measurable improvements in KPIs, safety, quality, and cost.

The Role

As a senior leader within the business, you will:

Lead, coach, and develop large operational teams to deliver departmental objectives.
Drive a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and engagement.
Deliver sustained KPI improvements across productivity, yield, and efficiency.
Lead and support change initiatives and improvement projects.
Ensure full compliance with health & safety, food safety, and quality standards.

About You

Proven experience in FMCG manufacturing operations (ideally food).

Experience with lean manufacturing / continuous improvement methodologies.
Strong understanding of processing operations and factory environments.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to problem solve in real time.
Confidence in working with senior stakeholders and customers.

Level 3 Health & Safety (IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent)
