Attracting and retaining experienced Level 3 Practitioners, Room Leaders, and Nursery Managers is becoming increasingly difficult for private nurseries.

Frequent hiring cycles and short-term fixes can affect team morale, interrupt Ofsted readiness, and impact the long-term stability of your setting.

Strong recruitment isn’t about filling a vacancy quickly, it’s about identifying professionals who truly align with your nursery’s values, leadership approach, and long-term direction.

When your culture, expectations, and opportunities for development are communicated clearly from the beginning, you see stronger applications, better alignment, and improved retention.

Effective recruitment takes a considered approach. It’s built on transparency, long-term thinking, and a commitment to developing teams that grow together.

How is your current recruitment strategy supporting the long-term success of your nursery?

What Matters Most to Candidates Before They Apply?

The landscape is changing, candidates in private healthcare, childcare, and education are doing far more than just reading job descriptions. Before taking the plunge, they’re researching your leadership style, team stability, and how you’re perceived online.

Today, your employer brand is a must have for attracting top talent. Whether you oversee a nursing home, physiotherapy clinic, nursery group, or independent school, your reputation is what sets you apart in a competitive market.

Nurses, Therapists, Managers, Teachers, Support Staff - they all want to feel part of a community where they’re valued and can progress. They’re looking at your social media, reading employee feedback, and seeking out real stories to find out if your organisation is the right fit for them.

As one candidate told us:
“I wanted to join a team that supports its staff and values honest communication. Seeing authentic stories and positive reviews gave me peace of mind.”

For employers:
Is your employer brand attracting people for the right reasons? Are you clearly sharing your culture, values, and leadership to appeal to those who will thrive with you?

For candidates:
Are you exploring potential employers to ensure their vision and values match your own, and that you’ll be set up for success?

At Recruit by Nature, we believe in helping both employers and job seekers make confident, informed decisions. We partner with organisations to enhance their employer brand and connect people with opportunities where they can make a difference.

Take your next step with confidence.

During interviews for roles within health and wellness settings, employers often look beyond qualifications. They want to understand your approach to client care, performance, and long-term wellbeing.

Can you clearly explain how you assess, plan, and deliver programmes that support individual goals?

Whether you’re a Physiotherapist, Personal Trainer, Pilates Instructor, or part of a wider multidisciplinary wellness team, your ability to communicate your approach to client care, progression, and collaboration can set you apart.

Interviewers may ask:
• How do you tailor programmes to individual needs and goals?
• How do you balance client results with safe, sustainable progression?
• How do you work alongside other professionals to support overall wellbeing?

Take time to reflect on real examples. What shapes your approach? How do you build trust and keep clients engaged, motivated, and progressing?

Confidence in explaining your values, coaching style, and commitment to high-quality client care can make a lasting impression.

“We genuinely didn’t know if working together was going to survive the first year...

Before starting Recruit by Nature together, we’d always worked separately in different office environments.

So suddenly going from that to working remotely together every day felt like a huge leap into the unknown.

If I’m honest, it felt a little like jumping off a cliff headfirst and hoping it would somehow work out 😅

This throwback photo was taken during our one year work anniversary trip to Stari Grad 🇭🇷

And looking back now, I remember how significant that first year felt for us.

Not just professionally, but personally too.

We already knew we worked well together in life, but building a business together is a completely different thing.

There were definitely ups and downs.

A lot of adapting.
A lot of learning.
A lot of figuring things out as we went.

But reaching that one-year milestone gave us confidence that maybe we actually could build something meaningful together long term.

Especially within recruitment, where there’s so much pressure, uncertainty, and responsibility that comes with running your own business.

At that point, we still had so many goals ahead of us and no idea what the next few years would look like, but I think that trip was one of the first moments where we stopped and thought:

“We’re actually doing this.”

Looking back now, I’m really grateful we took the risk.

Have you demonstrated your ability to partner with SENCOs to enhance outcomes for pupils with SEND?

In independent and SEND schools, safeguarding and joint planning are fundamental to fostering a safe, nurturing space where every learner is valued and supported.

School leadership teams are always keen to see clear, real-life examples of your safeguarding expertise and collaborative mindset. Whether you’re a teacher, classroom assistant, early years practitioner, or in a leadership position, reflecting on these moments can elevate your application within the private education sector.

At Recruit by Nature, we recognise how crucial these qualities are for both candidates and schools. If you’re contemplating your next step or looking to strengthen your team, we’re here to help at every stage.

Are temporary staff the answer to long-term growth and stability in allied health services?

In private clinics, community services, and specialist therapy settings, flexible hiring can help manage peaks and maintain service delivery. But if your goal is to build a consistent, high-performing team and deliver strong long-term outcomes, permanent recruitment plays a crucial role.

Long-term team members whether Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Podiatrists or wider MDT professionals bring continuity, strengthen collaboration, and build trust with both patients and colleagues. They are central to delivering effective, person-centred care and achieving meaningful clinical outcomes.

While short-term support can provide flexibility, true team cohesion and shared purpose come from individuals who are aligned with your values, approach, and long-term vision.

At Recruit by Nature, we take a people-first approach to permanent hiring because we understand the impact of getting the right fit. Our focus is on careful matching, long-term alignment, and supporting the growth of sustainable, high-quality allied health services.

Looking to strengthen your team?

If you’re rethinking how permanent hiring supports your long-term strategy, it may be time to take a more considered approach.

Let’s invest in lasting success together.
