Our client is a well-established growing business. Due to growth in their business, they are looking for an experienced Electronics Test Technician to join their growing team with the opportunity to be part of a small team assembling, Conventional PCB assembly, Surface mounting, PCB Assembly and Rework, soldering components to high standard and testing.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate high level of dexterity for this type of work, as well as ability to read instructions represented in drawings, schematics etc. following them with precision is extremely important. You will need to be able to hand solder components on a PCB, both surface mount and through-hole, carry out wiring and crimping as well as use general test equipment such as an oscilloscope, multi-meter, and power supply.
SPECIFICATION:
• You must avoid errors while fixing and soldering components by ensuring all the components are fixed appropriately as per drawings/BOM/instructions.
• Required to use certain hand tools in the assembly process
• Required to fully understand the drawings, BOM’s and instructions
• Required to comprehend component datasheets to identify components, orientation, and fitting instructions
• Understand the required type of soldering such as hand, wave, and selective soldering.
• Check your work as part of the assembly process, 1st off and batch inspection is conducted however you must do this during assembly to avoid disruptions and delays.
• Required to work to and understand the workflow involved in assembly process of the company
• PCB assembly and surface mount rework
• Soldering conventional components
• Tasks will also include taking measurements of voltage, power, temperature, current, etc. as well as device programming and product configuration.
• You will be trained on the use of pre-compliance EMC test equipment and perform tests on our products.
• You will also be involved in reliability testing and failure analysis.
• The role also includes the use of a temperature/humidity test chamber, data loggers and new component approvals.
• Soldering (surface mount down to 0402 size, through hole and wires).
• Prototype building and testing.
• Customer returns testing and Test jigs building.
• Approving new parts and existing parts alternatives this includes Electronics components testing.
• Fault finding electronics fault down to component level and repairing.
• Pre-forming, inserting, and cropping component leads using hand tools.
• Hand placing and soldering surface mount components.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:
• General test equipment such as an oscilloscope, multi-meter, and power supply.
• Experience in PCB assembly with training to IPC standards is preferred
• Reliability testing and failure analysis.
• Measurements of Voltages, Power, and Temperature.
• Electronics Rework, testing and Inspection
• Experience of PCB assembly and surface mount rework
• Experience in EMC testing and using Test jigs building.
• Electronics components testing.
• Fault finding electronics fault down to component level and repairing.
• Hand placing and soldering surface mount components
SALARY PACKAGE:
£26k - £30k Per Annum
Salaries offered will be dependent on qualifications and experience in the range of £26k to £30k pa. Annual leave is 22 days plus 3 discretionary days between Christmas and New Year. The company provides a Death in Service benefit and pension scheme.
WORKING HOURS:
Hours are 9:00am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, with an hour for lunch.
