This is a non-classroom-based position and the school is specifically seeking candidates who have previously worked as a SENco within a school setting . The successful candidate will play a key role in leading SEND provision across the school, supporting the Senior Leadership Team, working closely with staff, parents, and external agencies, and ensuring that all pupils receive the support they need to succeed.

About the Role - SENDCo

* Lead and manage SEND provision across the school

* Ensure appropriate interventions and support are in place for pupils with additional needs

* Monitor pupil progress and ensure SEND pupils achieve the best possible outcomes
* Provide advice, guidance, and training to teaching and support staff

The Ideal Candidate Will:

* Hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or an equivalent SENDCo qualification
* Have previous experience working as a SENDCo within a primary or secondary school
* Have a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory responsibilities
* Have experience managing EHCP applications, annual reviews, and multi-agency meetings
* Be confident working with senior leaders and contributing to strategic planning
* Have excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
* Be passionate about inclusive education and improving outcomes for children with SEND
* Be able to build positive relationships with staff, families, and external professionals

We're recruiting dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work in a specialist school in Hindley, supporting students with a range of needs including:

ASD / Autism

Global developmental delay

Challenging behaviour

It will be a full-time, long-term role ideal for a candidate with SEN school experience. We also welcome applications from individuals with transferable skills gained in:

Youth offending or criminal justice services

Children's residential care

Mental health or behavioural support roles

Police or prison services

Requirements
To apply, you'll need:

An up-to-date CV covering your full employment history (including any gaps)

The right to work in the UK

Two professional references

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

A driving licence is desirable but not essential
