🚨 WE’RE HIRING – RECYCLING OPERATIVE & PALLET SORTER ♻️

Looking for a part-time role where you can stay active, work as part of a team and get stuck into practical, hands-on work?

We’re currently recruiting for a Recycling Operative & Pallet Sorter to join a busy local business in Churchstoke, Powys.

📍 Churchstoke, Powys
💷 £12.71–£14.30 per hour
⏰ 24–32 hours per week
📅 Monday to Friday
➕ Occasional overtime and weekend work when required

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in keeping a workplace safe, clean and organised.

You’ll be responsible for sorting wooden pallets, identifying those that can be reused or repaired, safely stacking pallets and separating recyclable materials such as plastic, cardboard and shrink wrap into the correct waste streams.

You’ll also support the production team by collecting recyclable waste, maintaining recycling areas and reporting any damaged equipment, safety concerns or quality issues.

⚙️ Key Responsibilities

Maintaining high food hygiene and safety standards

Working closely with supervisors, engineers and quality teams

Following health and safety procedures

Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment

We’re looking for someone who has:

Strong mechanical understanding

The ability to troubleshoot minor machine faults

Excellent attention to detail

A commitment to producing high-quality products

The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment

Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude

Previous food manufacturing or hygiene-controlled environment experience is desirable

We’re looking for someone who is:

Reliable, punctual and detail-focused
Able to follow written procedures
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Physically able to complete manual cleaning duties
Flexible to work overtime, shifts and occasional weekends
Previous hygiene or cleaning experience in food manufacturing is desirable but not essential
Knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP or COSHH would be an advantage
