Senior Electrical Engineer – M&E Services – South Manchester

Are you an M&E project engineer, electrical bias, looking for a new challenge?

I am working with a major tier one contractor to secure an exceptional individual for a permanent position initially managing a complex healthcare project in the South East of Greater Manchester, in 2024.

In return we are looking for an experienced electrical engineer with consistent deliverable experience in major M&E frameworks.
You will hit the ground running into overseeing a the M&E deliverables of a £30 million complex healthcare project in Cheshire.
The scheme will include a new emergency department for children, extension to include additional mental health facilities and extension to accident and emergency facilities to include a more expansive ambulance and patient waiting areas.
Based on site you will co-ordinate all electrical engineering functions relating to the project, technically and commercially ensuring the delivery is as smooth and trouble free as would come to be expected from a major contractor in the M&E construction arena.

Blacklight Solutions are currently working with a main contractor based in Lancashire, who are a leader in refurbishment and decarbonisation of housing across the UK. Established over 40 years ago, they have a turnover in excess of £30 million more than 50 employees, they have enjoyed a sustained period of growth and are looking to add to the commercial teams

You will be working on several projects for local councils and housing associations across the UK on a range of construction refurbishment projects ranging from £10,000 to £1,000,000 in value. You will work with internal resources, the supply chain and a selection of sub-contractors to provide estimates for small projects through to full turn key refurbishments covering windows, doors, solar PV, battery installations, roofing replacement, heating and plumbing and loft and cavity insulation.

You will enjoy a variety of projects to take responsibility for as you grow with the business. The role will be based at the head office in Lancashire but will have the opportunity to travel to projects and offices throughout the North West, Yorkshire and the Midlands

The role will suit an experienced estimator, QS or commercial manager from a specialist construction sub contractor or contractor in the social housing, commercial building refurbishment or heritage building refurbishment. However a junior QS looking for a first postgraduate role in the construction industry will be considered as a development role working with the current senior estimator.

The modern offices offer excellent transport links, with plenty of parking, just a couple of minutes from the motorway and easily commutable from Manchester and Liverpool. The salary on offer is dependent on experience but will be in the range of £20,000 + for a graduate to circa £40,000 for an experienced construction professional. Given the nature of the role, the package would include a car or car allowance for an experience estimator or would work towards this for a development role. In addition there will be the potential for a company bonus linked to company growth.

Safety professional in the South East? IOSH qualified? Do you want a £70k package, flexible working and the support of a multi-billion contractor?

As part of a £200 million highways framework we are looking to recruit an experienced H&S manager with extensive highways experience.

The role will involve proactive management of several large schemes in the south east, that will extend to further schemes in the UK over the next 5 years. You will be managing across a variety of H&S advisors, engaging with stakeholders and attending safety forums and meetings to ensure the programmes are delivered on time and budget whilst maintaining the highest levels of safety.
You will need to be able to communicate with teams across several sites, the client at framework meetings and across framework partners to ensure a collaborative approach.

You will ideally bring an IOSH qualification and experience in the delivery of complex highways schemes, ideally managing safely in repair, maintenance and overhaul projects in live running highways, as opposed to new build highways schemes.
