City of Portsmouth College is absolutely thrilled to celebrate the phenomenal achievements of Rene-May Gray, whose dedication, drive and talent have seen her fast-track her career in the rail sector!

โ€‹Rene-May first demonstrated her commitment to excellence by successfully completing her NVQ Level 2 in Rail Engineering and SCT at City of Portsmouth College (CoPC). This solid technical foundation paved the way for her next step, securing a role as an office trainee.

โ€‹What happened next is a true testament to her work ethic and natural leadership. Rene-May hit the ground running, and in a matter of months, her hard work, organisation skills, and proactive attitude earned her a well-deserved promotion to Office Manager.

Rene-Mayโ€™s journey from a dedicated student at CoPC to a vital leader in the office is an inspiration. โœจ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

What a day on the rails! ๐Ÿš‚โœจ

Our Nottingham College learners had an unforgettable experience at the Flying Scotsman event โ€” stepping back in time, exploring railway heritage and celebrating success together.

From teamwork and confidence-building to hands-on learning and new achievements, it was incredible to see everyone shine.

A huge well done to all our learners for representing us so brilliantly and making the day such a success! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ‘

It was incredibly special to welcome Rene - May Gray back to City of Portsmouth College where her journey in the rail sector first began.

Having successfully completed her NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Rail Engineering and Track Maintenance here, Rene has now come full circle returning to the college as an industry professional.

She was visiting today to recruit the next generation of talent from the very same course she once sat in, offering current students a direct blueprint for success.

Her story is a brilliant example of how vocational training leads to rewarding careers, and we couldnโ€™t be prouder to see her inspiring our future engineers.
