This Track Talk Tuesday, we see the rail industry crack down on trespassing ⛔️❌

Trespassing causes more than 3,300 hours of delays a year - and we have all been on a delayed train, we all know how frustrating this is!

The Rail industry will be working much more closely with British Transport Police as a result to try and reduce the figures of crime around the railways.

This World Mental Health Day, we're taking a moment to recognise the importance of mental health and wellbeing, both in the railway industry and beyond.

The railway is built on people. From those working on the tracks and maintaining vital infrastructure to those delivering training, managing operations and keeping services running, every individual plays an important role. Behind every role is a person, and it's important that we look after the people who keep our railways moving. 🚆

Working in the railway industry can bring its own unique challenges, including demanding environments, long hours, changing shifts and the responsibility of keeping others safe. That's why creating a workplace where people feel supported, valued and comfortable speaking about their mental health is so important.

💚 It's okay not to be okay. Mental health affects us all, and no one should feel that they have to face difficult times alone. Whether it's checking in on a colleague, taking the time to listen, offering support or simply asking someone how they're doing, small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference.

At Rail Futures, we believe that conversations around mental health should happen all year round, not just on one day. By encouraging open conversations, breaking down stigma and looking out for one another, we can help create a more positive, inclusive and supportive railway industry for everyone.

Let's continue to make mental health a priority, support those around us and remember that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

On Monday, we visited to give a face to face information session for prospective learners looking to get into Railway Engineering!

Whilst at the college, we also completed all the relevant risk assessments.

Todays Station Spotlight... Newcastle!

Newcastle railway station (also known as Newcastle Central Station) is on the East Coast Main Line in the United Kingdom, serving the city of Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear.

October is breast cancer awareness month🩷🎗

Every year on average 59,400 people (women and men) are diagnosed with breast cancer. 23% of these are deemed preventable- but this can only be done through continuous research and education.🎓

Here at Rail Futures we are walking roughly 150miles EACH throughout the month, whilst working a 9-5.💼

Today we received our fundraising pack, and we can't wait to help raise money for this incredible cause!
