📅 A Week in the Life of an HR Consultant
People often think HR is just policies and paperwork.
It’s not.
Here’s what this week actually looked like…
🔹 Monday
Supported a business owner navigating a formal grievance. Structured the process, drafted the letters, ensured everything aligned with employment law. Calm, compliant, controlled.
🔹 Tuesday
Reviewed employment contracts for a growing SME. Identified outdated clauses that could have exposed them to risk. Updated terms. Future proofed.
🔹 Wednesday
Advised a manager on a long-term absence case. Balancing empathy with business protection never easy, but always necessary.
🔹 Thursday
Performance management support. Difficult conversation planned properly, documented properly, delivered professionally.
🔹 Friday
Strategic planning call with a retained client. Looking ahead at workforce growth, upcoming employment law changes, and manager training needs.
What most people don’t see is this:
HR is about protecting businesses before problems escalate.
It’s about giving directors confidence.
It’s about making sure when something goes wrong and eventually something always does, you’re not scrambling.
If you’re running a business without structured HR support, ask yourself:
Are you managing people…
or just hoping for the best?
📩 If you want clarity around your current setup, message me “HR” and let’s have a conversation.
No pressure. Just practical support.
