are like doing a jigsaw -There is always a right way and a wrong way to go about them.

The key is to be organized, systematic, and thorough.

Here are the top tips:

1. Make sure you have a clear plan of action before starting the investigation. This will help ensure that you don't miss any steps and that the investigation is conducted in a timely manner.

2. Interview all relevant as soon as possible. The sooner you get their statements, the less likely it is that they will forget important details.

3. Gather all pertinent evidence and document everything carefully. This will help make your case stronger if it goes to a ET or arbitration.

4. Be objective and fair. Remember that you're looking for the truth, not just trying to prove someone guilty.

5. Keep an open mind. Don't make any assumptions based on your initial impressions

Friday lesson….

If you take an oak tree seed and plant it in a small plant pot, that seed will never become the oak tree that oak trees are capable of becoming. There is nothing wrong with the seed, the seed fell prey to the environment.

Don’t allow your environment to dictate the oak tree that you become. Everyone one of us has this wonderful gift, a gift to become a tall, strong, substantial oak tree BUT you have to use it, use your gift.

Take your seed, take your gift, take your potential and get away from the environment that’s holding you back.

Get away from the people in your life that ain’t doing nothing to help you, get away from the people in your life that are hating, get away from the people that want to keep you in that small plant pot and most importantly, get away from the people that don’t see your true worth.

Life is precious and tomorrow is not a given so make the most of today to reach your full inner oak tree

Is a healer

Time isn’t the main thing, it’s the only thing

Having employees is like having children, what you put in, you get out and the more you educate them the more they know.

Obviously having children and employees isn’t that easy, take our two for example….brought up identically yet they are poles apart behaviouraly and attitude wise.

Whilst I’m on the analogies of life, children and employees are just like having a dog….you have to know what makes them tick. Our dog isn’t motivated by throwing a ball or by food….she just wants to work. Austin just loves helping on the farm surrounded by , and But Zachary loves been at home with his mum

Are you due a new chapter in your life book?

Wow my life book is flying by at the moment… only 10 days away from my birthday, again, and weeks away from Black Ink HRs second birthday!

6 weeks holidays seem to have gone by in 6 days, my eldest has got his first ‘wobbly tooth’ and my youngest is too grown up for daddy cuddles, even though he’s only three.

Some chapters in your life book are slow but others are quick, some are filled with sadness yet others are filled with happiness and some are full of pain and others are full of joy.

The thing to remember is whilst we can’t control what’s in our next chapter, we can control how you react to it.

Work smarter not harder….

Grab a cuppa, take 5 and read this story:

It was the annual lumberjack competition and the final was between an older experienced lumberjack and a younger, stronger lumberjack. The rule of the competition was quite simply who could fell the most trees in a day was the winner.

The younger lumberjack was full of enthusiasm and went off into the wood and set to work straight away, he worked all through the day and all through the night. As he worked he could hear the older lumber jack working in another part of the forest, he felt more and more confident with every tree he felled that he would win.

At regular intervals throughout the day the noise of frees being felled coming from the other part of the forest would stop, the younger lumberjack took heart from this knowing that this meant the older lumberjack was taking a rest, whereas he could use his superior youth and strength and stamina to keep going.

At the end of the competition the younger lumberjack felt confident he had won, he looked in front of him at the piles of felled trees that were the result of his superhuman effort.

At the medal ceremony he stood on the podium confident and expecting to be awarded the prize of champion lumberjack, next to him stood the older lumberjack who looked surprisingly less exhausted than he felt.

When the results were read out he was devastated to hear that the older lumberjack had chopped down significantly more trees than he had, he turned to the older lumber jack and said,

“How can this be? I heard you take a rest every hour and I worked continuously through the night, once more I am stronger and fitter than you old man”.

The older lumberjack turned to him and said, “Every hour I took a break to rest and sharpen my axe”

Lesson - we need to take time out to review and sharpen our game. Wise people work smarter not harder

How often to you create lasting memories?

If you had £86400 to spend every day, and at the end of the day that £86400 didn’t carry over but the things you bought did, would you waste a single penny?

So why do we waste time on the things that aren’t important to us.

We have 86400 seconds in a day and once it’s gone it’s gone. It’s our responsibility to make the most of those seconds to create lasting memories
