How recruitment has changed!
It's October and the Tewkesbury Mop Fair is nearly here with its fun fair, stalls and attractions. It dates back to the 12th century when farm hands, labourers, servants and craftsmen looking for work, would take along a piece of equipment to represent their trade. Those with no specific skills would carry a mop head to signify they were free for work, hoping a prospective employer would spot them in the crowds - hence the Mop Fair!.....So if you see someone holding a lap top in the air, send them this way to register for work :)

Ever wondered what the best day/time of day for an interview is? A recent recruitment industry survey of 1,000 successful interviews determined Wednesday...a frontrunner with 36%, between 11am-2pm where 34% got the job or went through to the next interview round. A close second was 2pm-5pm with a 24% success rate!

An interesting article in our industry magazine this month which got us all talking....."If we could wave a magic wand and give you an extra hour in your day, what would you do with it?" Housework invevitably featured along with another session at the gym!....I think updating your CV and submitting it to us as a first step to finding that new job would be a great use of time:)
