Yesterday was the world premiere of Ocean with Sir David Attenborough. 🌊

Whilst we aren’t film promoters or critics, this one seems important and resonated with us. It has been billed as the ‘strongest and most compelling argument for ocean action.’ Sir David Attenborough, a national treasure, has dedicated his life to telling this story, to exposing the true cost of our modern lives are having on our planet, our Ocean.

But the film promises hope, shows that there is time for us to reverse the damage...

We all have a role to play in that, and we want to help where we can in a small but important way. This is why we proudly hold Ocean Bottle as part of our merchandise stock.

Ocean Bottle have long been on a mission to remove plastic from the oceans and waterways that lead there. With each purchase we are helping them action that plan. With our current contribution we have helped prevent the equivalent of 100,000 plastic bottles reaching the ocean!

Last year when we set about our Christmas charity drive, we knew we didn’t want it to end with the festivities.

And so, with a promise made in December, we were delighted to hand over this hand-selected hamper of goodies to St Margaret's Hospice to support their next event 🥂

This year marks an incredible 45 years of free hospice care at St Margaret's Hospice Care. To keep this up and raise important and vital funds, the charity hosts an annual ball - and this year promises to be bigger than ever! Our hamper will be just one of the many and varied prizes available on the night, many of which the team here at CMSourcing sourced during our phone-a-thon with St Margaret's 🎉

✨ Christmas Time with RNLI ✨

As we draw closer to Christmas, we are pleased to share we have given our last Christmas gift. This year we chose to send our largest donation to support the remarkable RNLI.

With the donation we are supporting their Launch a Memory service and have added £1,000 to the initiative. As well as our donation, which puts our names on their Shannon lifeboat, we had the opportunity to go to Exmouth Lifeboat station and see where and what the money goes towards.

The running and maintenance of the station and the equipment was amazing to see first-hand. But it’s the station volunteers that really blew our minds. Day in, day out they are on call and the enthusiasm they have for their work is second to none. The tour and welcome we received was warm, informative and full of pride. We are so happy to give them our support, now and always, to keep saving lives at sea. Thank you!

In Somerset and Edinburgh, the teams have donned their best festive jumpers and we will be making our donations so this charity can continue their very important work.

✨With Christmas just around the corner again, we have been reflecting on our 2023 Christmas kindness mission and working on how to make this year even better✨

Time is something we never have enough of but the one thing we can give freely.

So, this year we are doing just that, giving some time and support to both national and local causes so read a bit more about last year or keep an eye out here for what we have up our sleeve this month.

Whilst we mostly focus on the waters, today we look to the sky and wish our contractor Duncan Sharp a safe flight ahead of his 200km hike-and-fly paragliding competition!

After squeezing in a quick nearshore job for us (thank you!), he’s now had a couple days to rest and prep for the competition in Switzerland. As Duncan modestly puts it ‘some elite level pros do it, so I'm going to be right at the back working out what to do!’. We have full confidence in you Duncan and wish you all the best.
