This week, we would like to shine the spotlight on our wonderful Alison 🌟💙
Over the past week, Alison has been an amazing support to the team. On more than one occasion, she has generously offered up her own time outside of her usual availability, often helping out in the evenings when extra support has been needed.
But this week, the real shining light comes from the incredible lengths Alison has gone to in order to support one of our wonderful clients. 💙
The client's first language is Italian, and Alison recognised that the language barrier could make it difficult for her to feel fully included, particularly when attending our Day Centre.
So, what did Alison do?
She taught herself some Italian! 🇮🇹👏
Now, Alison would be the first to admit that she isn't fluent just yet, but she has learned enough to communicate with the client, build a wonderful relationship with her, and help break down what could have been a significant language barrier.
Because of this, the client is now able to thoroughly enjoy her time at the Day Centre, feel included, and spend time with her compagne – her friends and companions. 💕
This is such a true testament to the type of person Alison is. She doesn't want anyone who attends our Day Centre to ever feel left out. She will always look for ways to help people feel included, valued, understood and part of the group.
Alison, your kindness, dedication and determination to make a difference are truly inspiring. Thank you for going above and beyond, not just for our team, but for the people who put their trust in us every single day.
