The NI Weather & Flood Advisory Service has issued the following warning.

A Level 1 Warning for Wind has been issued for Northern Ireland.

Warnings valid from 08:00 06/04/2024 until 22:00 06/04/2024

High winds associated with Storm Kathleen will affect NI throughout Saturday

Wind gusts of up to 50mph are likely widely with up to 70mph around the coasts and in exposed areas.

The public should be aware of:
Risk of Disruption to travel - Road, Rail, Air & Ferry services.
Risk of Interruptions to power supplies.
Risk of large waves impacting coastal areas - Coastal flooding etc

⚠️ A deep area of low pressure due to affect us on Saturday has been officially named by Met Eireann as Storm Kathleen.

The storm will bring High winds, possibly some damaging wind gusts on Saturday. Disruption expected.

The NI Weather & Flood Advisory Service has issued the following weather warning.

A Level 1 Warning of Rain has been issued for parts of Northern Ireland.

Valid from 18:00 26/03/2024 until 06:00 27/03/2024

Heavy and persistent rain will affect eastern parts of NI tonight and into tomorrow morning.

Rainfall accumulations of up to 50mm are possible in places leading to a risk of localised flooding and disruption to travel.

Strong winds may be an additional hazard in places, especially along the coasts with strong gusts possible here.

Cold as we start spring. Some snow overnight and this morning in places. Any rain, sleet & snow clearing and dry for rest of today with some good sunny spells. Temperatures up to 5°C.

Dry into this evening, although showers likely to develop later and into tonight. Some heavy and falling as sleet & snow, snow mainly over hills. Strong winds from the North. Temperatures down to 1°C.
