Complex Care Support Worker – Wootton Bassett

We are working with a client in the recruitment of additional support workers to join an established team.

This specific role is supporting a young man with Cerebral Palsy in Royal Wotton Bassett, Swindon.

You will be working in the family home, in a fun, friendly and welcoming environment. You will be joining in varied activities and helping to explore new activities. You will be working within a support team to enable this young man to communicate to his best level, helping with his personal care needs and encouraging him to be as independent as possible.

The client communicates using facial expressions and can read lips.

The ideal candidate is someone with a background of complex care supporting individuals with physical and learning disabilities, someone who wants to share interests and hobbies, someone fun but responsible and someone this young man can build a fantastic rapport with.

A full clean driving licence is required

Your role will be to ensure the general well-being of the residents, promoting their independence, choice and dignity by delivering the highest standards of care. You will support with personal care such as washing, bathing and dressing, supporting people who need help at meal times, and by taking part in social activities with residents as required following guidance from the nurse in charge.

We invest in our staff with a comprehensive induction training course and development above the national guidelines as we recognise our staff are the key to our success. Recruiting and retaining the right staff is paramount. We do this by valuing their input and empowering them throughout their roles.

Varying shifts available for both days and nights (block booking in advance)

Days: 07.30 – 13.30 / 07.30 – 16.00 / 12.30 – 21.00 / 16.00 – 21.00

Nights: 20.45 – 07.45

Drivers licence with access to a vehicle isn’t essential (however preferred) as public transport isn’t reliable as the location to the home is situated on the outskirts of Swindon.

Free Quality class room based induction training to develop your skills, induction training courses are carried out fortnightly.
Flexible hours, including a choice of day, night or weekend shifts (block booking agency shifts in line with PHE and movement of staff)

A valid DBS is required to work as a support worker/care assistant/nurse. Having a valid DBS on the update service will be great for immediate placements following our comprehensive induction course and with obtaining satisfactory references.
