Pathways to Change

Pathways to Change Reducing reoffending in Swansea by supporting ex-offenders through 7 identified Pathways to Change.

Established in response to the Home Office 2004 Reducing Reoffending National Action Plan we aim to work with offenders through 7 different pathways of resettlement. Pathways:
Accommodation
Education, Employment and Training
Health
Drugs and Alcohol
Finance, Benefit and Debt
Children and Families
Attitudes, Thinking and Behaviour

Aims:
1. Reduce reoffending and prevent intergenerational criminali

ty by holistically supporting offenders, ex-offenders and their families through the 7 pathways.
2. To minimise the stigma and labeling that ex-offenders and their families experience by encouraging and supporting local communities and voluntary, community and statutory organisations in welcoming and assisting ex-offenders seeking to transform their lives.
3. Work with partnership organizations and community groups in order to integrate ex-offenders and their families into community life.
4. Work with those preparing for the end of a custodial sentence or coming to the end of a penal sanction to provide them with skills and tools via multi agency working to promote rehabilitation.

"Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They are not fond of rules and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them...because they change things, they push the human race forward and whilst some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius! Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do!!!

Productive meeting at the office today! If the sun decides to stay I do believe Thursdays meeting may just have to be held in the sun trap of the office garden!
