Schools back and so am I! 👋
Year 27 in HR! Fresh, energised, and Autumn ready.
The speed of change in employment law is significant and October brings several changes for all employers.
From 30 October 2026, every employer in the UK will be required to take all reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment and this includes liability for harassment of employees by third parties unless they have taken all reasonable steps to prevent it.
Sexual harassment prevention is relevant to every workplace and every industry.
Whether your organisation is an office, shop, factory, school, hospital, construction site, hospitality venue or remote workplace, employers should take proactive steps to prevent sexual harassment.
Third parties relevant to your business maybe Customers, Clients, Patients, Contractors, Consultants , Suppliers, Visitors, Members of the public
Please do reach out to me for more information on how I can support your business to meet appropriate standards of expectation and compliance.
A HR toolkit on prevention of sexual harassment in the workplace is available from Goodwin HR and includes model polices, templates, forms, training guidance and risk assessment material.
In my humble HR opinion, employers must meet the requirements to avoid serious risks, injunctions and avoid costly situations.
