To celebrate the National Year of Reading, I've had the incredible opportunity to join forces with the wonderful Sarah from Therapy Dogs Nationwide 🐾

Together, we have been touring schools across Leicestershire, running our Ready, Steady, Read (Paw's and Read) sponsored reading events. Not only do schools raise funds to receive free books for their libraries and classrooms, but they also enjoy a very special visit from one of Sarah's gentle "cuddle monsters" – her beautiful Bernese Mountain Dogs!

Therapy dogs Nora and Yogi have been accompanying us on our visits and have thoroughly enjoyed listening to the children read.

Many children feel nervous about reading aloud in front of adults or their classmates. Therapy dogs provide a calm, friendly, and non-judgemental audience, helping children relax, build confidence, and enjoy reading. Spending time with dogs can also reduce stress and promote feelings of comfort and companionship.

The response from schools has been absolutely incredible, and we're having the BEST time inspiring children to discover the joy of reading!

What a busy weekend ahead!

This Saturday ill be in my home village of Stoney Stanton at the Stoney Stanton Carnival 🎉
Any purchases at the event will generate free books for Manorfield C of E Primary School!

And then on Sunday...

I'll be at one of my favourite places in the world, Bradgate Park Trust for the Summer Fair!

At both events, I'll have these cute little Ducks for sale at £1 each!
All proceeds to Therapy Dogs Nationwide 🐾💛

They have run out of books!

I am thrilled to be running an incentive called a "Community Book Pledge" on behalf of Baby Basics Leicester 🩷🩵💛

The initiative is to help raise money for new books through a partnership between local businesses and the community.

If any of my lovely customers and followers would like to make a donation to help buy much needed books, your support would be very much appreciated.
