We are seeking a LGV C+E Truck Driver to join our team, working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern. During the 4-day shifts, you will be away from home tramping, 3 nights in every block of 4 shifts.
You will be based from our Burton on Trent site and you will be working for our client’s largest customer who is an international food manufacturer who supply confectionary, coffee and water from their Tutbury and East Midlands Gateway facilities to major retailers, cash & carries and independents throughout the UK. This is a clean job with all work being done on box trailers with very little manual handling involved.
This is a role where you share a vehicle with another driver and we remind you that smoking in a commercial vehicle is against the law. You must be over 25 and have held a HGV licence for a minimum of 2 years, although we will consider drivers with less than 2 years with some experience and will accept Limited Company Drivers.
You will choose this shift pattern of ‘4 on 4 off’ as it offers a great work-life balance, and you would work 180 (on average) shifts per year compared to the 260 shifts on a normal 5-day (Monday-Friday) role.
On offer is a competitive salary, which is paid weekly as an all-inclusive fixed weekly salary. Interviews can be held at our client’s premises at short notice if you meet the criteria.
Responsibilities: - To delivery and collect goods and materials to specified locations throughout the UK - Ensure safe loading and unloading of cargo - Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules - Perform routine vehicle checks and maintenance - Adhere to all road safety regulations - Maintain accurate records of deliveries and vehicle maintenance
Skills: - Proficient in commercial driving techniques - Experience as a delivery driver preferred - Strong communication skills and customer service orientation - Excellent time management and organisational skills
