We’ve got some exciting news to share! Join us in celebrating Matthew Evans, who has officially stepped into his new role as Regional Commercial Manager at our Newport Branch! 🥳

Since joining Ziegler in the summer of 2021 as a Sales Operator, Matthew has consistently excelled, quickly earning a promotion to Business Development Manager in January 2022. He brings over 25 years of freight industry expertise to the role, having begun his career at TNT International before successfully running his own freight forwarding business for 16 years. His comprehensive knowledge spans the entire logistics spectrum, from courier parcels to full-container shipments.

Looking ahead, Matthew will be taking on a more strategic role, driving commercial strategy and expansion at the Newport location while supporting Ziegler’s ongoing success.

Reflecting on his new role, Matthew shared: "I'm looking forward to the challenge ahead and am eager to help grow both the Newport Branch and Ziegler as a whole."

In his new role as Regional Commercial Manager, Matthew will continue to drive strategic growth and ensure that Ziegler maintains its high standards of excellence across the region.

Jonathan joins us with over three decades of exceptional leadership in international supply chain, transport, and logistics. In his new dual role, Jonathan will serve as Head of UK IT while also working closely as part of the wider Group IT Management team. He will be overseeing IT systems, software applications, development, integrations, and driving digital transformation across our operations.

Throughout his career, Jonathan has proven himself as a knowledge bridge between executive strategy and technical execution—delivering scalable cloud platforms, process automation, and data connectivity solutions that propel business growth.

Jonathan brings an immense wealth of knowledge, industry foresight, and hands-on expertise to the business. Based out of our London Gateway office, he will lead key functions to ensure our IT infrastructure remains as dynamic and forward-thinking as our logistics network.

Today we say farewell to an absolute gem of a lady who has been a mainstay of our team far before Ziegler was on the map in the UK.

Jaqueline 'Jac' Farrer started her career in freight forwarding as a 17-year-old back in 1977 for Haniel as an export copy typist. Through the years, company buyouts led her to Phoenix and then to Ziegler in 2009. As a motivated and dependable member of the logistics team, she progressed to Key Account Manager.

During her incredible 49-year career, Jac has seen the industry undergo massive changes—from manual input on typewriters to fully automated account systems.

Jac, we've been privileged to have you as such an integral part of our team, and we will miss you deeply. You've earned this retirement—now it's time to go and enjoy it! 🥂✨
