72-HOUR STABILISATION
Include In Autism is building a brand-new team of Crisis Stabilisation Practitioners – skilled, highly resilient professionals who can respond quickly when an autistic person or person with a learning disability is experiencing crisis, when a placement is becoming unstable, or when families and existing support teams need immediate intensive support.
Our approach is built around one clear principle:
RESPOND. STABILISE. SUPPORT.
Rapid 72-Hour Stabilisation response - £15.00 per hour contracted rate
£20.00 per hour for the FIRST 8 HOURS of every crisis call-out
Employed directly by Include In Autism – not attached to one specific service
Community | Own Home | Residential | Supported Living
THIS IS NOT A TRADITIONAL SUPPORT WORKER ROLE.
As a Crisis Stabilisation Practitioner, you will go where the need is.
You could be deployed into someone’s own home when their family is struggling to maintain the placement.
You could step into supported living or a residential setting when a situation is escalating.
You could provide additional intensive staffing following a serious incident.
You could support an existing staff team when a placement is at risk of breaking down.
Or you could simply be the calm, experienced person who arrives when everyone else feels they have run out of options.
The environment may change.
Our purpose doesn’t.
72-HOUR STABILISATION
Our Crisis Stabilisation Practitioners will provide an intensive initial 72-hour response, working quickly to:
Understand what’s happening
Reduce immediate risks
Identify triggers and unmet needs
Support communication and regulation
Restore consistency and stability
Work alongside families and existing professionals
Help prevent unnecessary placement breakdown
Develop a clear plan for what happens next
We aren’t there to judge.
We’re there to understand.
We don’t see someone’s behaviour as the problem.
We ask what that behaviour is trying to tell us.

We need people who can walk through the door when things are difficult – without fear and without judgement.
People who can remain calm when situations escalate.
People who don’t panic.
People who can think clearly under pressure.
People who understand autism, learning disabilities and behaviours of concern.
People who can build trust quickly without trying to take control.
People who recognise that behind every crisis is a person who deserves to be understood.
You will need to be:
Strong and emotionally resilient
Calm under pressure
Confident in complex situations

Flexible and dependable
Comfortable working in unfamiliar environments
Able to work as part of a highly responsive team
Prepared to respond when you’re needed most

YOUR PAY
Your contracted rate will be:
£15.00 PER HOUR
When you are deployed to an immediate crisis:
THE FIRST 8 HOURS OF EVERY CRISIS CALL-OUT WILL BE PAID AT £20.00 PER HOUR.
Following the initial 8 hours, your standard £15.00 hourly rate applies.
Responding at short notice, entering unfamiliar environments and helping stabilise complex situations requires a particular kind of professional.
We believe that should be recognised.
YOU DON’T WORK FOR ONE HOME.
YOU ARE A CRISIS STABILISATION PRACTITIONER.
You will be employed directly by Include In Autism rather than attached to one individual service.
Your skills could be needed across our organisation and beyond – in residential care, supported living, community settings or someone’s own home.
That’s what makes this role different.
Every deployment will be different.
Every person will be different.
And every crisis will require you to look beyond what you’re seeing and understand why it’s happening.
