24/11/2023
Saturday the 25th marks International Day of Ending Violence against Women and Girls.
An estimated 1.6 million women aged 16 to 74 suffered domestic abuse in England and Wales in the last year, and around 5.1 million women aged 18 to 74 were victims of some form of
abuse as a child. Tragically, in the year ending March 2020, 81 women were killed in a domestic homicide. Something has to change.
The statistics are horrifying women and girls deserve to feel safe and respected which is hard to do with an estimated 1 in 3 women over the age of 16 in Great Britain being subjected
to at least one form of harassment in the last year.
If you or someone you know is in a similar situation please reach out for help. You are not alone.
We are activists, survivors, researchers, frontline support services and NGOs working to end violence against women and girls in all its forms.
