A huge congratulations to Lynne Wall on 20 years of dedicated service as our Payroll Manager! Over the past two decades, Lynne has been the steady, reliable force behind the scenes—keeping everything running smoothly, supporting our team, and always going the extra mile.

Her knowledge, commitment, and attention to detail have made a lasting impact and we are truly grateful for everything she does.

Thank you, Lynne, for your hard work, loyalty, and the difference you’ve made over the years.

Also, a big shout out to Sam Hoey who works on Reception at the brewery and supports our Finance and HR team who has achieved 10 years' service as well. Over the past decade,

Sam has been both the face and the voice of Hydes. Her professionalism and willingness to help have made a real difference.

We really enjoyed hosting the Economics students from Helsby High School this week for their industry tour. We showed them around the brewery and spoke to them about careers in the hospitaility industry as well as explaining how a business like ours works. We're looking forward to seeing their Marketing projects.

Last week, our amazing chefs gathered for another exciting Chef Skills Workshop, and this time, they were all about the dough! From flatbreads to doughnuts and everything in between, they rolled up their sleeves and got hands-on with some serious bread-making fun.

These workshops are the perfect way for chefs to sharpen their skills and unleash their creativity. Plus, they’re a fantastic learning boost for our junior chefs on apprenticeship programs.

A huge thank you to The Cheshire Cookery School for hosting us again.

Our pub The Hornsmill at Helsby has been closed for a refurbishment and in the last week, the team have been refreshing their knowledge with a variety of training sessions.
Covering everything from cask ale to coffee, customer service and wine tasting, the team are almost ready to welcome back customers to their fabulous looking pub.

Great training not only helps build skills and knowledge but also improves confidence. We’re passionate about supporting our team members in their learning and development.

We caught up this week with Luke Tanker's team of pub managers at their Area Meeting this week at the Cross Keys in Cheadle.

It was fantastic to see both Alex Allan from the Abel Heywood, Manchester and Dan Strong from the Vine, Nantwich being given their 10+ years' service awards to celebrate their long service with Hydes.

The both do a fantastic job of running their respective sites. The Abel and the Vine have both had refurbs in the last couple of years and are certainly worth a visit if you're ever in the area.
