We are seeking a professional 7.5 Tonne Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely across designated routes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and logistics, seeking a reliable and organised position within a reputable company. The ideal applicant will possess relevant driving experience and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

Duties

Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and in accordance with schedules
Conduct safety checks on the vehicle prior to each shift, including tyre pressure, fluid levels, and overall vehicle condition
Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring items are secured properly for transit
Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery
Out Monday to Thursday (42 hours a week) delivering and installing furniture around the UK. Leaving and returning to Denbigh
2-man team sleeping in cabs or a hotel depending on location
Follow all road safety regulations and company policies during transit
Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times or any issues encountered during routes
Report any vehicle defects or incidents promptly to management
Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed or similar vehicles
Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving
Must be capable of lifting heavy items as part of a 2-man lift
Excellent organisational skills to manage delivery schedules efficiently
Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo safely
Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
Valid driving licence suitable for 7.5 tonne vehicles, with no recent endorsements or penalties
Experience in delivery driver roles is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and professionalism in logistics environments

£14.00 Per Hour (including holiday pay)

Urgent!!! Ongoing HGV 1 night trunking work in Doncaster! Starts 27th October.

Drivers Direct Recruitment are looking to recruit an ongoing HGV 1 driver on behalf of our client to join their team working out of their site in Doncaster (DN1)

Hours of work:
• Monday to Friday nights
• Start times will be around 4pm - 2/3am

Salary:
• £17.39 ph plus £2.11ph for holiday pay ( Total inclusive of holiday pay £19.50 )
• Example gross pay £19.50 x 50 hours = £975.00

The Role:
• Ongoing trunking work
• Trailer swaps involved
• 2 runs a night from Doncaster - Tamworth (x2)

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Carrying out relevant daily vehicle safety checks and reporting as per Operational Procedures.
• Ensure all delivery and collections are carried out in accordance with company procedures.
• To deliver & collect to customers in a safe and professional manner.
• To complete all work related paperwork in full and hand in at the end of the shift.

Essential Skills:
• Must hold a valid HGV 1 / Cat C+E licence.
• Must hold a valid driver qualification (CPC) card and valid Digital tacho card.
• Good communication skills and customer relations.
• Have a safe driving record with no more than 6 minor penalty points due to insurance stipulations.
• No DRs, INs or DDs offence codes due to insurance stipulations.
• Must have at least 2 years’ experience.
