WCG works in partnerships with the Prince’s Trust to deliver the Team Programme. This provision is offered at a variety of locations according to demographic need, these include, and are not limited to; Coventry and Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire and South Birmingham.

This post will be based in Lincolnshire. The programme is specifically designed to engage with 16-25 year olds who are not in education, employment or training (NEETs) and provides them with an opportunity to re engage in learning, participate in community projects, teamwork and individual work placements. Participants to the programme may exhibit challenging behaviours and the postholder will be expected to work effectively with this group.

The programme gives young people a unique opportunity to work as a team in undertaking worthwhile and challenging activities. To ensure that all our students reach their potential and are not discriminated against we wish to appoint an assistant Team Leader to provide support to the three Team Leaders on their programmes and cover the delivery of the programme in the Team Leader’s absence.

The purpose of this post is to assist the team leader and provide support to the students on the team programme. Time will be spent with students in the classroom who need extra help to keep them focussed, on task and up to date. The Programme will require the postholder to accompany the students on the residential between 3 to 9 times per year and off-site or to other College centres to undertake projects, enterprises or other activities associated with the course programme. There will be a requirement to undertake administrative tasks relating to student retention and achievement. The person appointed will report to the Prince’s Trust Co-ordinator and work alongside the Prince’s Trust team leaders as directed by the Co-ordinator.

The post will work and support programmes at the three main programme centres in Lincolnshire - Lincoln City, Boston, Louth/Skegness and at other venues in Lincolnshire as required.

Skills and Experience:

1. GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics or Level 2 equivalent qualification.

2. Working knowledge of information technology such as e-mail, the internet and other software applications.

3. A First Aid qualification or willingness to gain one.

4. Wiliness to undertake training and development as appropriate.

5. Previous experience of student support / working with students.

6. Previous experience of working with students with challenging behaviours, students with special educational needs.

7. Good administrative, organisational and record keeping skills.

8. Good communication skills, verbal and written.

9. Commitment to a high level of student achievement and to continuous quality improvement.

10. Ability to motivate students to reach targets sets.

11. Supportive, positive and non judgemental attitude.

Technician / Instructors provide a high standard of technical and learning support in order to maintain a well prepared and realistic working environment. As an Instructor Technician, you would be required to support or deliver training to adult learners.

At WCG we have valued for many years the input that returning students make as Student Wardens. These post holders form a part of the Residential team and work closely with the Staff Residential Wardens to ensure that the residential campuses are safe and enjoyable places for our residential students.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. To liaise with and support the Duty Staff Residential Warden. Your duties will form a
part of a rota with other Student and Staff Residential Wardens. Whilst on duty, you
must remain on site to support the staff warden throughout the night if required.
2. The rota will include evenings and weekends.
3. To assist the Duty Residential Warden while on patrol in the residential areas.
4. To assist with the running of and security at student events, as and when they are put on by the Students’ Union.
5. To support the Duty Residential Warden while monitoring the conduct of students in
the bar.
6. To assist the Duty Staff Residential Warden with emergency transport requirements
7. Once every 4 - 6 weeks you will run one evening entertainment session with the
support from the warden team. This session will be geared to U18 year old students.
8. To attend Student Residential Warden team meetings and other appropriate liaison
meetings.
9. To be a link for new residential students and help them to settle into life on campus,
meeting with flats to help them plan how they are going to manage shared living and
accommodation related issues.
10. To assist the staff residential wardens as required with drop in sessions throughout the year and mediation of any flat issues.
11. To carry out other such appropriate duties as may be required from time to time by the Senior Residential Warden or his/her nominated deputy.
12. To attend a training week prior to the start of term.
13. To fully participate in any required training including Safeguarding Young People and Vulnerable Adults, Equality and Diversity, Raising awareness of Prevent, First Aid at Work, Fire safety and Evacuation, etc

The Bar Assistant will support the running of the Student Bar, providing an inviting environment in which the recreational needs of students, members of staff and guests can be met. You will ensure all financial returns from the bar operations are compliant with the relevant legislation relating to the selling of intoxicating drinks.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Preparing and serving of drinks
2. Glass collecting and cleaning
3. Keeping the bar tidy – both front and rear of house

Skills and Experience

1. You must be 18 years or older, in line with licensing law.

Place of work
The principal place of work will be the College’s premises based at Pershore Centre. However, the postholder may be required to work on either a temporary or an indefinite basis at any premises at which we may provide services.

The College Registry team is responsible for the collection, processing and management of the College’s core data, including programmes, enrolment, examinations, funding and achievements. The Exams Officer plays a crucial role within the team, liaising with many different examining bodies and therefore the ability to understand and execute regulations is crucial to success in this post.

The post holder will be responsible for aspects of data processing for examinations and achievements, ensuring high standards of data accuracy and that deadlines are met. Good interpersonal and telephone communication skills are essential, ensuring excellent customer service standards are experienced by all. Other qualities sought are accuracy, excellent organisation skills, the ability to work under pressure and tact in dealing with colleagues and students. The post is responsible to the Head of Exams.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Setting up MIS system each academic year to process the following:
Basedata.
Tracking students’ progress and achievement, using electronic and paper based
systems for:
Registration to Awarding Bodies.
Uploading of registration numbers back to the MIS system.
Proxy claims or test entries and achievement.
Portfolio progress.
Entry for portfolio moderation and achievement.
Unit achievements.
2. Dealing with all telephone enquiries.
3. Making arrangements for the receipt of examination entries and for submission of
entries to the appropriate examining body (including payment of fees).
4. Invoicing employers/managing agents for examination fees.
5. Arranging College examination accommodation and timetables and informing
students and staff of these.
6. Liaise with IT and Estates regarding examinations.
7. Booking exam rooms via the central timetabling system, resolving clashes in
accordance with Awarding Bodies regulations.
8. Arranging invigilation support / training and raising contracts for invigilators with
payroll.
9. Ordering and distributing the correct examination papers and appropriate stationary
for examination days.
10. Ensuring that examination scripts are dispatched immediately after completion of
each examination day.
11. Organising the dispatch of results and certificates to candidates.
12. Liaise with all staff regarding registrations, entries and results data.
13. Administer and organise, online test both on college campuses and off site (e.g.
employers).
14. Organisation and co-ordination of arrangements for candidates with Access
Arrangements, in accordance with regulations.
15. Being present and available in College on the days when results are notified, and
distributing results to candidates.
16. Processing enquiries about results.
17. Supporting the development of process improvements and the use of technology to drive efficient and effective practices.
18. At certain times of the year, the post holder will be involved in other College duties,
including processing of enrolments.

Annual Leave
The College offers a generous annual leave entitlement to support staff, commencing with 25 days rising to 28 days after 5 years’ service, pro rata per annum plus 8 statutory days (Public & bank Holidays) and College closure days (all pro rata for part time posts).

The post holder will be expected to work such hours as are necessary for the proper
performance of their duties and responsibilities, normally 37 hours per week.
