Position: Support Worker – Children’s Supported Living (No Personal Care)
Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire
Hours: Long/short/sleep day shifts (rota based)
Contract: Zero hour agency contract (flexible shifts)
Pay: Competitive rates (dependent on experience)
About the Role
LARKSS Care & Recruitment Ltd is urgently seeking experienced Support Workers to join our agency team in Bradford, working with children and young people (up to age 18) in a supported living environment.
You will be supporting children with complex needs and behaviours that may challenge, so experience in restraint techniques and de escalation is essential. This role does not involve personal care.
Key Duties
• Provide safe, structured, and nurturing support to children in a supported living setting.
• Implement behaviour management strategies, including safe restraint techniques where necessary.
• Promote independence, life skills, and positive routines.
• Maintain accurate daily records and incident reports.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
Requirements
• Minimum 1 year’s experience working with children/young people up to age 18 in a care, supported living, or educational setting.
• Trained in safe restraint techniques (e.g., Team Teach, MAPA, or equivalent).
• Ability to work long day shifts on a rota basis.
• Preferably a driver with access to a vehicle.
• Right to work in the UK – we do not provide visa sponsorship.
• Clear Enhanced DBS.
• Two recent, satisfactory references. UK based experience
• Flexibility to work on a zero hour agency contract with shifts allocated via a rota.
