What a time to visit Rockliffe Hotel & Spa

Chris and Neil recently headed to the five star County Durham resort to meet Operations Manager Ross Tatham and see the results of the significant investment taking place across the property.

Rockliffe has been through a multimillion-pound transformation, including work to its historic Old Hall and a completely new culinary direction led by James and Maria Close.

The resort now brings together six different dining and bar concepts alongside its spa, championship golf course and 375-acre estate.

For Chris and Neil, seeing that change first-hand was incredibly useful.

When a hospitality business evolves, understanding where it is heading becomes just as important as understanding where it has come from.

That insight helps us support partnerships with a much clearer picture of the people and leadership they may need next.

A trip into the Yorkshire Dales for Chris and a really valuable meeting at Yorebridge House .

Chris & Neil spent time with owner David Whitehead and General Manager Sophie Shotton, getting to know both the long term vision for the property and how that translates into the day to day guest experience.

Yorebridge House is a five star boutique hotel in Wensleydale with 12 individually designed bedrooms, a 3 AA Rosette restaurant and its new riverside wellness retreat.

Having both David and Sophie around the table made the visit particularly useful.

For us, understanding a partnership means knowing where the business wants to go as well as what matters to the people running it every day.

That gives any future search a much stronger starting point.

Sometimes you need time.

Relief work can give you the flexibility to keep earning, work in different kitchens and understand what suits you while you consider your permanent options separately.
